FAQ

Is the redaction permanent?

The tool draws solid black rectangles over the content using pdf-lib. The visual content is covered, but underlying PDF text streams may still be present. For maximum security, run the result through the Flatten PDF tool afterwards.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. All processing is done entirely in your browser using pdf-lib and PDF.js. Your file never leaves your device.

Can I undo a redaction box?

Yes. Click the × next to any box in the list below the preview, or use "Clear Page" to remove all boxes on the current page before downloading.
