What Is TIFF to PNG Conversion?

TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is a high-quality raster format widely used in photography, scanning, and print workflows. However, TIFF is not natively supported in web browsers or many common apps. Converting to PNG gives you a universally compatible, lossless image that works everywhere — including on the web, in presentations, and across all operating systems.

How to Convert TIFF to PNG

  1. Drop your .tif or .tiff file onto the upload area or click to browse
  2. The tool decodes all pages using the UTIF library in your browser
  3. Preview each page and navigate between them with the arrows
  4. Download a single page or all pages as individual PNG files

Features

  • Multi-page TIFF support — each page becomes a separate PNG
  • Supports RGB, RGBA, grayscale, and palette-based TIFF images
  • Powered by the UTIF pure-JavaScript TIFF decoder (no server needed)
  • Download individual pages or all pages in one click
  • 100% client-side — your files never leave your browser

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this support multi-page TIFF files?

Yes. Multi-page (multi-IFD) TIFF files are fully supported. Each page is decoded separately and can be previewed and downloaded individually.

What TIFF compression formats are supported?

The UTIF library supports uncompressed, LZW, PackBits, ZIP/DEFLATE, and JPEG-compressed TIFF files. Very old or proprietary TIFF variants may not be supported.

Will the PNG preserve image quality?

Yes. PNG is a lossless format. The conversion decodes TIFF pixel data and re-encodes it as PNG without any quality degradation.

Is my TIFF file uploaded to a server?

No. All decoding and conversion is performed locally in your browser using the UTIF JavaScript library. Your files are never uploaded or stored.
