What is a GPA Calculator?
A GPA (Grade Point Average) calculator computes your academic average by weighting each course grade by its credit hours. The standard 4.0 scale assigns point values to letter grades — A = 4.0, B = 3.0, C = 2.0, D = 1.0, F = 0.0 — with plus/minus variants in between. GPA is used by colleges, universities, and employers to assess academic performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a good GPA?
Generally, a GPA of 3.5–4.0 is considered excellent, 3.0–3.4 is good, 2.5–2.9 is average, and below 2.0 may put you on academic probation at many institutions. Requirements vary by school and program.
Does A+ count as more than A?
On the standard 4.0 scale, both A+ and A are worth 4.0 points. Some schools use a modified scale where A+ = 4.3, but this calculator uses the most common 4.0 maximum.
How do I calculate cumulative GPA?
Enter all courses from all semesters into the calculator. The weighted average across all credit hours gives your cumulative GPA. You can also calculate semester GPA by entering only that semester's courses.
